There are some things we pray for asking for a miracle when it is simply a discipline thing on our part. God most likely would not do for us what we can do for ourselves.

What does the diametric contrast refer to? It refers to exact opposites! 

The thing about this Christian walk is, in one area of your life, you can be experiencing the direct power and influence of God, yet in another area, it can appear as if God has taken a vacation! Yet we know in and out of season, up or down, everything works together for our good!
