God loves the sinner but hates the sin

By Brian L. Nichols

I am gravely challenged with this statement, in that He will judge and condemn those sinners that He loves, because they do not love Him, and in so doing, choose to remain in their sin.
People are literally dying, daily, under this pretense, IN THEIR SIN, with no hope of seeing His face in peace.
To me, this is a representation of what I see as the "romanticization" of the love of God that is so prevalent in Christendom; no matter who I am, how I am, or what I am doing, God loves me.
What is faulty, and profoundly dangerous, about such "romanticization" is that it leaves people under the erroneous impression that, no matter what, God will not condemn them because of who they are, how they are, and what they are doing, BECAUSE He "loves" them.
It's interesting, because the scriptures declare in:
Hebrews 3:7-9
Wherefore, as the Holy Ghost saith, today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
The heart of the Lord declares, repent and be born again, that you perish not in your sins, but the heart of the hearer declares, whether I sin or not, whether I repent or not, He still loves me, and because I "confess" this, and "believe" this, He will not condemn me with "atheist-level" sinners, etc.
What kind of slippery slope are we leaving people on, by allowing such a false perception of God's love, without virtually any consideration of His impending judgment and condemnation, to germinate in the minds of "sinners" - within and without Christendom?
DISCLAIMER: This is just a singular facet of all that is inclusive in the redemptive process.
