If you read the Book of Proverbs, you find Wisdom being personified as a person, constantly calling out and asking the simple to come to the feast she is hosting.
Knowledge is the first step, while wisdom is the second. Yet it seems we have focused all our attention and might on acquiring knowledge, and settled there. Any half serious Christian who reads their bible regularly has a sufficient amount of the knowledge of God - they can quote and post scriptures, and probably exceptionally well too. However a whole lot lack the wisdom of God (me included).
Wisdom is the application of acquired knowledge, so the wisdom of God is the application of the word of God (the knowledge of God). As a Christian, when you begin to apply and live by the word of God faithfully in your everyday life, that is when you are ushered into the wisdom of God.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" - Pro 9:10
Living a lifestyle that is in complete reverence of God is the genesis, that access point into the wisdom of God. It is the gateway. So that means, living a lifestyle that takes advantage of God's grace (sin consciously because there is grace, and you can ask for repentance later) denies you access into the wisdom of God, since the very first requirement for access is the fear of the Lord. Likewise, putting self first and relying on your own strength and effort, instead of putting God first and relying on the finished work of Christ at Calvary (which is a demonstration of trusting in yourself and not trusting God), is a stance that will deny you access into the wisdom of God.
The knowledge of God through his word comes from studying the word faithfully, and there is a blessing in that. But the wisdom of God only comes by living out this acquired knowledge. One can teach and expound great deep and revealing truths, but until one is faithfully living out this acquired knowledge, access into living out the wisdom of God in ones life is denied.
BENEFITS OF HAVING THE WISDOM OF GOD
Wisdom is being able to make excellent, beneficial, profitable and meaningful decisions and choices based on acquired knowledge. That in itself is a blessing. But the wisdom of God is more. It's an anointing, an endowment, a gift, a grace from God to know exactly what to do in every situation, circumstance and opportunity we encounter. You may not 100% obey every expectation of the word of God in your life, but the fact that you have chosen to live in the fear of the Lord committedly positions you to access the wisdom of God
- Living an honorable and rich life
("With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity" - Pro 8:18)
- A lifestyle that exudes a right standing with God; established in wealth; having a full and stable bank account
("I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full" - Pro 8:20&21)
- Long life and prosperity
("My son do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity" - Pro 3:1&2)
- Good health and protection from sickness and disease
("Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones" - Pro 3:7&8)
- Protection as you travel daily in life; keeping you from stumbling
("My son preserve sound judgement and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet" - Pro 3:21-24)
- Living a life of victory over sin and every trial thrown at us
("For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless" - Pro 2:6&7)
I can go on and on unveiling the blessings that having the wisdom of God will unleash in your life. As spiritual as we all may get, we all have needs and requirements in this world. From bills and financial needs, to desires in our heart aching for expression and fulfillment in God, most of them requiring some form of finance or another. Living in daily application of the knowledge of God we have acquired in the beginning of being set free to live out our purpose and destiny.
Living in daily reverence of God is the beginning of accessing the all knowing Wisdom of God.
