Light in Darkness
By Kenneth Tamara
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" - John 1: 5
The normal thing for people to do is when they have an issue in their life, they hide it from God and attempt to fix it. If you could fix it, you would have done that a long time ago. Instead of trying to fix it on your own, invite God into your mess. When light comes into darkness, it flees! So whatever you struggle with, invite God in the struggle - addiction, habit, relationships, situations, etc. While you are in it, introduce God in it. He's not coming in to condemn or judge you; he's coming in to break the power of sin.
"A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out" - Is 42:3
Jesus did not come to whip you into shape in your weakness or struggle. In your frailty he would not wound you. Rather he would bind up your wounds and assist you to stand and help you out. That is his ministry as our High Priest making intercession for us since he understands what living in this flesh is like.
Invite Jesus into your mess to clean you up
